Nationwide Healthcare Services purchases Milford’s Bayhealth Memorial property

In Milford, Bayhealth announced Nationwide Healthcare Services, who will be purchasing the grounds that currently houses Milford Memorial Hospital on Clarke Avenue.
Nationwide plans to transform the 22-acre location into a multi-use healthcare-focused community.
Bayhealth’s decision to select Nationwide was the result of a two-year long process.
The redevelopment project could lead to capital investments of more than $20 million, along with the creation of more than 300 jobs.
47 ABC spoke to the Mayor of Milford, Bryan Shupe as he says, the redevelopment of the hospital is great for the City of Milford.
Mayor Shupe, says “What this really does for the town of Milford is, it sets the pace for economic development inside the city of Milford for downtown development revitalization but also other parts of the city.”
We are told Nationwide has proven to redevelop property in a way that is consistent with the community’s interest.
Bayhealth will move from Milford Memorial Hospital in early 2019, when the new $300 million Health Campus opens along Route 1.
